BELFAST Childrens recording artist Wayne Read aka Wayne from Maine, kicks off the Childrens Summer Performance Series at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, in the Abbott Room at Belfast Free Library. Read presents a rollicking program of songs, many with a Maine flavor, such as Happy as a Clam, One Potato and Maine. Audience participation is part of the fun! Doors open at 6:30. JUGGLING JOCK
BROOKS Known as the Jocular Juggler, Bob Nickerson will provide a fun evening of comedy and juggling Saturday, July 13, at 8 p.m. at the Marsh River Theater. Nickerson specializes in juggling baseballs, hockey sticks and basketballs. He has appeared with Regis and Kathy Lee and on Americas Funniest People.
Appearing with Nickerson are Lucretia and Seth Yentes, a sister-and-brother duo who live in Monroe. Lucretia plays classical violin and Seth plays the cello. They are in a trio with pianist Yvonne Drake. Both have been playing for many years and are returning to Marsh River after winning the theaters amateur night presentation in 2001.

BELFAST The Belfast Maskers One Night Only! special series presents Fascinatin Rhythm, a highly acclaimed Midcoast-area jazz and swing vocal quartet, at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the Belfast Maskers downtown waterfront theater, located at 43 Front Street.
It doesnt take long for an audience listening to Fascinatin Rhythm to transcend the time barrier and re-emerge in the era of the Cotton Club. Featuring tight vocal harmonies reminiscent of such groups as the Pied Pipers, the Modernaires, and the vocalese of Manhattan Transfer, Fascinatin Rhythms music bridges genres from the 20s to the 60s, and beyond.
Founded in 1995 by soprano Meg Nickerson of Belfast and tenor Kevin Lappin of Camden, the group also includes alto Dagney Ernest of Rockland and bass Terry Bregy of Camden all seasoned actors as well as accomplished singers. Backed by a strong combo of piano, bass, and drums, Fascinatin Rhythm has performed all over the state, including opening for the Temptations in front of 8,000 people at the Blues Festival in Rockland.
