Kelmscott Farm, Lincolnville Set on 140 acres in Lincolnville, Kelmscott Farm is home to more than 20 rare livestock breeds. The roots of the farm stem back to 1834 and throughout its history, Kelmscott has continued to operate as a farm. Kelmscott Farm began in 1994 and continues to practice traditional farming methods combined with modern technology. The farms main function is to serve as a conservation breeding center for rare and endangered livestock animals and build up individual endangered breeds. The farm is home to animals that are literally the last of their kind, all threatened with extinction. Among the animals at the farm are llamas, Cotswold Sheep, Fell Pony, American Cream Draft Horse, Gloucestershire Old Spots pigs, Ancona and Black Jersey Giant chickens, Rouen Ducks and Narragansett Turkeys. The farm is open May 1 Oct. 31, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Nov. 1 April 30, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The farm is closed on Mondays.
