LAYOUT: Thanks to clay under the soil which holds moisture, the course has some of the most lush fairways and greens in the area. However, many greens are sloped and blind shots to some greens make it difficult. The course is extremely hilly so, if one plans to walk, take into account the possibility of being tired, especially late in the round.

HISTORY: The club was built and operated by Ivis and Chet Cripps of Rockport in 1965. They sold the business to the Goose River Land Company in 1985. The course was owned for many years by Bowen Marshall, Harold Crockett, Al Whitney and Rick Bresnahan. Only recently was the course sold to Goose River Holdings, with Palgutt and Isom being the principals.
